Blue Air has announced it will add a new route linking Bucharest with Funchal in Madeira.
The new route will be operated with Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 aircraft starting on April 9, 2022.
Blue Air to establish a new base at Lasi
Blue Air has announced it will establish a new base at Lasi Airport in June with 11 new destinations and two based aircraft.
The carrier will fly from Lasi to Barcelona, Brussels, Dusseldorf, London-Luton, Munich, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Rome-Fiumicino, and Turin.
The airline will also fly from Iasi to Heraklion, Mykonos and Zakynthos.
In other news, Blue Air also announced direct flights between Suceava and Bucharest Otopeni, introducing 3 weekly flights effective April 23, 2021. The flights are operated by Boeing 737 jets and are already available for booking, with prices starting from 19, 99 euro / one way, and all reservations include one free change of travel dates.
Blue Air will be linking Suceava to 18 domestic and international destinations, by introducing direct flights to Bucharest Otopeni and offering 17 connecting flights from Suceava via its Bucharest hub under the 2021 Summer Schedule.
The new destinations to be operated from Suceava are: Bucharest (direct), London – Heathrow (1 stop), Amsterdam (1 stop), Brussels (1 stop), Frankfurt (1 stop), Madrid (1 stop),Milan – Linate (1 stop), Paris – Charles de Gaulle (1 stop), Munchen (1 stop), Helsinki (1 stop), Cologne (1 stop), Larnaca (1 stop), Malaga (1 stop), Bologna (1 stop), Prague (1 stop), Rome Fiumicino (1 stop) Stuttgart (1 stop) and Valencia (1 stop).

Blue Air suspends operations, blames the government, plans to resume
Blue Air suspended all flights departing from all Romanian airports until at least September 12, 2022, blaming the seizure of its bank accounts by Romania’s Ministry of Environment.
All flights returned to Romania on September 6 when operations were completely halted.
Blue Air has now announced the freeze on its bank accounts had been lifted and also stated it would confirm today (September 8) when flights would resume (probably next week).

Blue Air expands service from Milan Linate with 3 new direct routes effective August 2021
Blue Air has announced daily services from Milan Linate to Barcelona, Catania and Paris Charles de Gaulle, becoming the only airline connecting Linate with Barcelona and the only ULCC operating from Milan-Linate to Paris-Charles de Gaulle. All routes will be served by Boeing 737 / 800 – 189 seater jet.
Blue Air expands service from Milan Linate, introducing three key new routes to Catania, Barcelona and Paris Charles de Gaulle effective August 16th, 2021. The flights are already available for booking and ticket prices start at 9.99 Euro (Catania)/ 14.99 euro (Barcelona, Paris), one way – taxes, fees and one free change included.
Following the successful development of its Milan Linate operations, Blue Air has also upgraded the service between Bucharest – Milan Linate to a twice daily, operating morning and evening services between the two cities.
Blue Air to introduce 10 new routes for summer 2022
According to Routes Online:
Blue Air is planning to open seven routes from Bucharest (OTP) to Alicante (ALC), Dubai (DXB), Dubrovnik (DBV), Ibiza (IBZ), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Split (SPU) and Tenerife (TFS).
In addition, the airline will also service from Cluj-Napoca (CLJ) to Heraklion (HER), Rhodes (RHO) and Zakynthos (ZTH).
